Astronaut Food

We talked about how astronauts don't have kitchens on their spaceships to cook, so they have special food!  So I measured out pudding mix into ziplock baggies and added milk (I had to divide the servings to figure out how much mix to milk) and then mix it in the baggie with their hands.  Then I snipped off the corner of the bag and they sucked it out just like astronauts!

Moon Munch Snack

You will need:
large rice cake
marshmallow creme
Cheerios

Have the kids spread the marshmallow cream on their rice cakes and place cheerios for the craters on their moon!

Upside Down Biscuits

First you need to cut pineapple chunks into smaller pieces.  Really your supposed to use crushed pineapple but I thought the kids would like to "cut" with plastic knives.

Add 1 tsp. butter, 2 tsp. brown sugar, and a spoonful of pineapple in each muffin tin space.

Cover each with a refridgerated biscuit.  Put in oven as directed on biscuit container.

This is what they look like when they are finished baking.  Let them cool for about one minute....

And flip them upside down onto wax paper!  They are so yummy!  They actually taste like pineapple upside down cakes!

Easter Bunny Snack

First you mix green food coloring into your frosting!  To make it a little "healthier" you could use cream cheese.

Then you frost your graham cracker to make it look like grass!
Then add two bunny marshmallows, and one jellybean for an Easter Egg!

Under the Sea Snack

Under the Sea Jello Snack

After I mixed and poured the Jello, I let it sit for almost two hours before they added their fruit snacks to their "ocean".  That way, they didn't all sink to the bottom.

Since we know milk comes from cows and we use milk to make ice cream, we just added a little grape pop to make a purple cow drink!  Notice we even used purple straws!

Drinking "Nectar"

I cut out a flower and then placed the cup in the center and traced around it. When I cut the center out, I cut it just inside the line. It's hard to tell in the picture, you can see it better if you click to enlarge the picture. Then I slid the flower over the cup and taped it on.

The kids have been learning about the butterflies proboscis (tongue). Their tongue is like a straw and they use it to drink nectar from the flower, so that is what we did. I put nectar (apple juice) in the cup and they used their proboscis to drink it!

We made fruit kabobs for a yummy snack!
Luke REALLY likes pineapple!

Reegan thought it was so funny to eat her fruit off of a stick.

Belle filled her stick end to end!

We made Mr. Crab with our handprints!

I actually made these beach cupcakes for my son's kindergarten class. They had a beach day also. The sand is graham cracker crumbs, the beach ball is a gumball, and the inner tube is a gummy lifesaver! What a fun snack!

Belle enjoying our frozen banana snack! We put the banana on the stick and put it in the freezer. It only took them 30 minutes to freeze! Then we dipped the top in chocolate!

These are fun foods to use for a jungle theme! You can sort, graph, match, or make a necklace with the fruit loops. The Animal Cookies are always fun for the kids to go through and look at the animals, but always save the box, I have a cute activity coming up with it! The Curious George fruit snacks are fun for the kids to eat because they all love George!
