Month of the Young Child

April is Month of the Young Child
For the month of April we recognize the needs of young children and their families. Each week we focus on a different part of a child's development.
Week 1 - Social-Emotional Development
Week 2 - Cognitive Development
Week 3 - Physical Development
Week 4 - Language and Literacy
For more information on MOYC go to http://www.miaeyc.org/
The All About Me Basket!
In honor of MOYC, each child is going to have their own special day! They get to pack the basket full of all of their favorite things, and bring it to show everyone! They also get to be the big helper for the day!

Happy Easter! The kids took turns pretending to be the Easter Bunny and hid eggs for each other.
We read "Curious George Goes to the Beach". We had a beach day! The kids wore their suits and brought their beach towels! We had soooo much fun!

Luke loved the Lightning McQueen beach chair!

Belle loved the beach balls!

Reegan was sunning herself in the inner tube!

We made fruit kabobs for a yummy snack!
Luke REALLY likes pineapple!

Reegan thought it was so funny to eat her fruit off of a stick.

Belle filled her stick end to end!

We decorated buckets and dug for seashells in the sand!

We also did a little hula dancing!

Luke didn't want anything to do with the hula dancing. Although he was very polite about it. Whenever anyone asked him to dance he would say, "No thank-you".

We made Mr. Crab with our handprints!

I actually made these beach cupcakes for my son's kindergarten class. They had a beach day also. The sand is graham cracker crumbs, the beach ball is a gumball, and the inner tube is a gummy lifesaver! What a fun snack!
