We had an end of the school year party (well kind of).  It poured rain so we couldn't do anything outside.  So we enjoyed our treats inside.  This is my famous slushie machine!  The kids love to mix the flavors!

A very cute book about friendship!

Hermit Crabs

This is a perfect addition to an ocean theme!  My son Nicholas got these hermit crabs for Christmas.  They are very low maintenance or Santa wouldn't have brought them!  They came from the pet store.  You can get hermit crabs with painted shells or non-painted shells.  They are around $6 - $7 each.  When they get bigger than their shell, they need a new shell.  You can purchase bigger shells, they make the transition themselves.  They are kind of skiddish, but they do come out.  They eat hermit crab pellet food, fruit, banana chips, dog food, cat food and lots more!

I LOVE these bins!  I use them for all my manipulatives!  Go to http://www.lakeshorelearning.com

School ends for us on Friday!  For most providers, that means a summer full of kids, but for me it's the opposite.  I have mostly teachers children so they are gone for the summer.  I have two days in the summer where I am full, so I don't do a full calendar like the other months.  This summer we will be doing projects with the beach, ocean, and bugs.  I will post regularly like always of the fun summer things we are doing, but it won't be as often as it is now!  Have a great summer!  I am planning on adding to the themes on my blog already with new projects!  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at akh426@yahoo.com.

The kids love this lego/duplo table!  It was a craig's list find!  It will fit regular lego and duplo boards.  I put the duplos out for the younger kids and this summer I will put the little legos out for the older kids.
Baby Lane practicing her push-ups!  She really wanted to get that toy!  We also worked on rolling over, she is getting so close!
Purple Cow Drink

Since we know milk comes from cows and we use milk to make ice cream, we just added a little grape pop to make a purple cow drink!  Notice we even used purple straws!
Tractor Wheel Painting

I put brown paint on the tray and the kids ran the tractor throught it and then drove it on their paper!

I planted my flowers for summer!
Sprinkler Fun

This was our book today!  It's great if you are teaching the kids the names of baby farm animals!

This is a favorite this month.  The book is repetitive, in fact Belle read the whole thing to me the other day!  She was very proud of herself!
Luke playing the Oreo Cookie Matching Middles game.  We don't always play it as a game, we use it to tune up our fine motor skills too!  They have to match up the shape to fit the cookie together.
Baby Lane and I made it through our first week together!  She loves the bouncy seat and watching the kids play outside!
