Galaxy Dough

I used my regular play dough recipe and for the coloring I used the McCormick's Black Food Color and I also added some silver glitter!

The kids cut-out stars and made constellations!  This is the Little Dipper!

Space Sensory Table

I used black aquarium rocks, glow in the dark stars, and some black rocks (moon rocks) that I picked up on the beach.  I also got an astronaut kit and a tube of planets from amazon!

Ugli Fruit Sensory

Have you ever wondered what an ugli fruit looks like inside?

 Well here it is!

The inside peels out very easily!

This is how the kids described the ugli fruit:
Sight - "It looks like a big pear."
Touch - "It's squishy."
Smell - "The outside smells like a flower" and "The inside smells like an orange."
Taste: - "It tastes like a grapefruit".

We also learned that ugli fruit comes from an island called Jamaica!

What's Inside the Egg? Game

I printed out pictures of the seven items that I put in each egg, marbles, beans, marshmallows, rice, macaroni, and dice.  Then I punched out the colors of each egg I had.  I glued felt on the back of the egg cut-outs and the pictures.  Then I shook the eggs and the kids had to match the color of the egg with what they thought was in it.  All the pieces fit nicely inside the carton for storage!

Slime

This stuff is so cool!  It melts in your hands, but it also feels hard to the touch!  GREAT for sensory!

Recipe for Slime:

1 16oz. box of cornstarch
1 1/2 cups water
food coloring

In a large bowl put in cornstarch.  I add the coloring to the water and then dump it in.  You have to knead it to get it to mix together.  It has such a weird texture, but the kids love it!
